Today I spent quite a few hours in the fields. It was interesting and tiring. A long day nevertheless. It always helps to do something different, to get away from ones comfort zone.
Ronalia and I headed to Georgetown to do an agricultural survey on behalf of ECTAD. It took us nearing an hour, loud annoying, youthful music to kill the time. Van speeding as though on a race track.... Just part of the journey I kept telling myself.. Walked through various "other" persons yard to get where we needed to be..
Lo and Behold, everything was about politics and headed politics if you asked me.. I nodded where necessary and remained neutral as I did my work. I was here to conduct a survey an not to mingle in "Country partisan decision, making". This is now.. This is agriculture at the moment, perhaps until the night of Monday 13th December, 2010....
Farmers have to make a living, farmers are working but like everyone, they are distracted by life, by issues, by their own suffering..
As the surveying continue, and the election fever dies down, then maybe it will be back to business as usual..or maybe not... Xmas is around the corner..
