Hydroponics

www.diy-hydroponics.com
What is?
The process of growing plants in sand, gravel, or liquid, with added nutrients but without soil.

Benefits
  1. Allows plants to be grown in a variety of ways. Hydroponic plants can be grown in gravel, water, sand, or even in the air
  2. Allows the plant to grow faster and larger than those which are grown in the soil.
  3. Save space. Roots do not spread out so far, because they don't have to seek nutrients. The nutrients are being applied directly to the root.
  4. Larger numbers can be grown in smaller space.
  5. Plants can be given whatever amount of light, temperature, humidity, and water they need to thrive, on a consistent basis.
  6. Plants are not susceptible to pests, weeds, and soil borne diseases.
  7. Labour effective - Plants are very easy way to grow vegetation and the process of caring for plants can be fully automated.
  8. Water effective - Recycled and used repeatedly.
Hydroponic gardening is easy, safe, and fun.

  1. this technology can be used to appeal to the youth that into science and want to bring there creativity and innovative ideas to the agriculture field. However, the system can be expensive but it can also be fairly cheap to set up using old items around which gives rise to conservation issues.
